CN crews are still investigating following a train derailment involving roughly 27 railcars yesterday in Giscome.
There’s no danger to public safety, there are no fires or injuries at the site. The railcars were carrying various commodities, a small amount of petroleum coke spilled into the adjacent creek. Petroleum Coke is a non-hazardous by-product of the mining process.
CN environmental experts as well as regulatory authorities have been deployed to oversee the physical removal of the product. The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
