Frigid temperatures are in the forecast for the Interior, prompting the City of Williams Lake to release a list of shelter locations.
30 overnight beds are available Cariboo Friendship Society’s shelter at 99 3rd Avenue South, for those seeking an escape from the cold.
While those beds are usually vacated during the day, the Society is allowing individuals to stay inside the facility if daytime temperatures drop below -10.
An additional 34 temporary overnight beds are also being offered at the Hamilton Hotel on 6th Avenue South, in partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association.
During the day, residents in need can warm up at the Salvation Army, with a free breakfast at 9:00 and lunch at noon.
Women and children can get free winter clothing from the Women’s Contact Society, with officials from Interior Health and the City also distributing clothing to those on the streets.
