We are now officially in the middle of the second worst wildfire season in BC’s history, with nearly 1.3 million hectares burned so far.
But with more than 370 active wildfires, 250 of which are listed as out of control, an eventual leap into the top spot seems inevitable.
Evacuation orders and alerts remain in place north of Francois Lake, south and east of Houston, south of Babine Lake, and in Tintagel.
An order has also been issued for Fort Babine and the surrounding area, with alerts in place for Cedarvale and Woodcock, and around Sik-E-Dakh.
Multiple alerts and orders are also in effect for a large swath of the Interior from Fraser Lake in the north, to Ulkatcho territory in the south and west, and Udy Creek, past Nazko, in the east.

Additional wildfire crews from the Armed Forces and Coast Guard were deployed to Prince George and Kamloops yesterday.
Crews from the US, Mexico, New Zealand, and Australia also touched down in the Province over the weekend.
