The Terrace Fire Department is welcoming their new Fire Chief Chad Cooper.
Previously, Cooper had been serving as deputy for the Prince Rupert Fire Rescue.
That announcement comes after the city’s annual report for 2022 showed the department responding to over 1,100 911 calls, which was 340 more than reported in 2021.
Of that, 312 were fire related calls while 484 were first responder and medical calls.
Fire Chief Cooper inherits the position from John Klie, who held the title for 17 years before his retirement on June 16.
