Nearly half of BC’s 40 active wildfires are burning in the Prince George Fire Centre, including all active fires of note.
Still covering close to 6,200 hectares, the Boundary Lake fire, near the Alberta border, east of Fort St John is the largest of those.
It is prompting an evacuation alert east of Cecil Lake, and an evacuation order covering a number of properties in the Goodlow area.
Meanwhile, the Red Creek fire, burning just north of Charlie Lake, has now grown to cover nearly 2,800 hectares.
Evacuation alerts and orders are in place for a slew of properties in the Red Creek and Lower Chache areas, near Highways 97 and 29.
While it is currently listed as being held by the Wildfire Service, the Teare Creek fire east of McBride is the third fire of note.
