UPDATE:
The Cariboo Regional District has cancelled the evacuation order which had been in place for the Dripping Water wildfire.
Original Story:
BC’s two largest active wildfires are continuing to prompt evacuation alerts in the Cariboo Fire Centre.
Now covering roughly 209 hectares southeast of Alexis Creek, the Dripping Water Wildfire is the largest of those.
Meanwhile the Lost Valley Road blaze is now covering 113 hectares east of 70 Mile House and Pressy Lake, and north of Bandello Lake.
That fire is also prompting an evacuation alert, with a map at this link.
An evacuation alert is not a call to evacuate, but rather for residents to prepare in case an order is issued.
Residents should prepare emergency kits, pack essentials, make evacuation plans with family, and continue to monitor for updates.
