Fresh snow burying a weak snow pack has the potential for large avalanches high on the Northcoast.
Avalanche Canada has set the danger rating to 4 for coastal and inland sections of the coast west of Kitwanga and north of Hartley Bay.
That is the second highest risk level on their scale, which warns of very dangerous travel conditions, and a high likelihood of large avalanches, both natural and human-caused.
Danger ratings across the rest of the Bulkley Valley and Stikine are set to stage 3, or considerable risk.
Risks also remain at stage 4 around the Northern Rockies in the Interior and Peace.
Residents are advised to stay away from stormy areas, loose slabs, and mountainsides, and to avoid backcountry travel.
