Nearly 490 kms of pipe has now been installed along the Coastal GasLink pipeline’s 670 km route from the Peace Region to the west coast.
Overall, the project is now just over 81 percent complete, according to their final project update of 2022.
Over the course of the year, crews successfully finished pipeline installation on two of the project’s 8 segments.
Installation on the project’s most contentious section, which runs under the Morice River from south of Houston, is now 32 percent complete.
That stretch, which has been the site of heavy opposition from the Wet’suwet’en Hereditary Chiefs, was the last to get underway.
This year also saw the completion of their Wilde Lake Compressor facility, which will serve as the starting point for the pipeline.
