Bicycle enthusiasts in the Kitimat area will soon have a new place to partake in their passion.
A new, multi-purpose outdoor bike park is on the way to the Strawberry Meadows area, with construction recently picking up.
Titled the Oviatt Bike Park, the park is fully funded by founder Jack Oviatt and his family, and has been in the works for 2 years.
It will feature a paved pump track, dirt jump trails, and a skills track for mountain bikers, and is being constructed by Velosulotions.
Velosolutions is responsible for building more than 250 pump tracks, world-wide, and is a world-leader in the practice.
Oviatt Bike Park is currently scheduled to open to the public mid-summer.
